There are many poker strategy is available in the play of this game. Some of them include the pot odd, deception, position, gap concept, sandwich effect, equity, loose or tight play and many more. Pot odd is the mathematical calculation in the game. It is the ratio of the pot size to the size of the bet required in order to stay in the pot or more commonly in order to play the game. Deception is a way of acting differently than they would in order to induce the opponent. This may be of two kinds like slow playing and bluffing. Bluffing induces the opponent to fold the hand while slow playing is opposite to it. Bluffing cannot be done in online poker.
Position is a strategy that refers to the seating position. The player in earlier position needs a good hand in order to bet. Gap concept says that a player needs a very good hand in order to bet when other player has opened the game than he opens. Another concept says that a player needs a good hand when there are players behind him to act known as the sandwich effect in poker. One’s expected share in the pot is known as equity.
